Important message to all members

12 May 2020

The Property Institute of New Zealand offers a huge thank-you to members for their patience and understanding during these extraordinary and uncertain times.

As we emerge from Alert level Three on Thursday we will be entering into a new phase with many challenges still to overcome before our lives begin to start returning to what will be a new normal.

Our advice during these unsettled times has been consistent and clear and we continue to encourage you to follow the Government guidelines, maintain social distancing and exercise caution when interacting with anyone outside your 'bubble'.

Our older members may also want to take extra precautions given the risk to their personal health, and again, we urge you to seek out the Government advice and ensure your own health & safety protocols are followed.

On behalf of the Institutes it represents the Property Institute has issued a number of updates to members which are available on our website HERE

These resources include advice to the New Zealand Institute of Valuers regarding Valuation as an Essential Service, as well as FAQs, guidance on Valuation Uncertainty Property Inspections and a number of other helpful tips.

The Property Managers Institute of New Zealand (PROMINZ), representing residential property managers, has offered advice on virtual inspections and  held two free interactive discussions to assist members navigate the unprecedented lock-down requirements.

You will also find a number of helpful webinars in our library, covering issues including employment law, the business relief package, rebuilding your businesses, and insurance.

In the past few weeks, the Property Institute itself has issued multiple updates and provided a wealth of education from experts in their fields. Our strong emphasis on education is continuing in the coming weeks and we have an exciting range of online events well advanced.  Do regularly check our events page for the latest additions

The Property Institute will continue to work with our professional communities to identify and address issues as they emerge and will keep members informed of updates as they are received.

Once again, thank-you for your support and understanding over this time.
