Serious weather event

The Property Institute of New Zealand offers its warmest thoughts and sympathies to members suffering during the ongoing storms in the Upper North Island.

The upper North Island is home to many of our members, and you are in our thoughts and prayers during this time.

Auckland and other areas affected will need considerable time to rebuild and repair.  That's likely to put pressure on our members businesses and, of course, on their workloads as significant insurance matters eventuate and as the rebuild of damaged infrastructure begins.

Tomorrow sees the start of our AGM series throughout the country. Unfortunately this serious weather event will mean that we will not be able to attend the first AGM in Whangarei in-person. Further compounded as Wellington finds its self ‘fogged in’ this morning.

For the past three years we have experienced significant disruptions to our Branch AGM programme and 2023 promised to be more 'normal'.  The weather has put paid to that.

We urge our members to look after themselves during these tough times.  Those who might need someone to talk to are encouraged to take advantage of the Property Institute's free and confidential employee assistance programme (details on the PINZ website).

Please do let us know if there's anything we can help you with in the coming weeks.
