NZIV - What you need to know

Welcome to the September NZIV newsletter.
As we enter the third quarter of the year it's a good time to remind members to update their CPD records and ensure they are on track to achieve the required minimum number of points by December 31.
There are plenty of CPD opportunities on offer (with more to come) as your Council has worked to expand and enhance the education NZIV delivers.

Massey Spring Seminar

Marking the first day of Spring, Institute Members congregated at the Manawatu Campus to attend the annual Massey Spring Seminar. A great opportunity to bring professionals and students together and it was great to see so many join us on the day.
We thank Professor Graham Squires and Massey University for their support, as well as our first-class speakers for their contributions, and of course, our delegates for coming along and supporting this fabulous event.
We are excited to be turning our attention to next year’s seminar, where we hope to expand the programme to include urban property topics spanning over two days - offering even more professional development and networking opportunities. If you have any suggestions on content, you would like to see included next year, please email Rebecca van Etten rebecca@property.org.nz. We would love to hear from you.

Case Law Database
Trial & Evaluation

Thank-you to our volunteers:

Thanks to the members who've volunteered to be part of NZIV's evaluation of a new case law library database (Westlaw) that Council is considering.

With more that 60 participants taking part in the six-week trial, the take-up was higher than anticipated and we appreciate their help.

New Chair for VEIF

At it's recent AGM the Valuers Education and Integrity Foundation (VEIF) elected Aidan Young as the new chair.
Aidan has stamped his mark on the VEIF and all trustees wish him great success in the new role. As the inaugural and outgoing chair, I would like to once again thank the NZIV/PINZ for their joint assistance to the VEIF.
