Future planning during changing times:

National Property Conference’s

 2022 & 2023

Dear Members,

Your Board has made some significant decisions affecting our Annual Conferences in 2022 and 2023.
I will provide more detail shortly, but in summary:

  1. The 2022 National Property Conference set down for Rotorua in June will be moved online.
  2. The 2023 National Property Conference will be held in Christchurch at the newly refurbished Te Pae Convention Centre on June 7-9.

Moving 2022 to an online forum

This is a pragmatic decision which balances the risks to member & community safety and the financial risks to the organisation should circumstances change late in the delivery phase of the 2022 Conference .
While we are all hopeful that the worst of Covid 19 will be behind us by June, there is no guarantee that will be so and the long tail will continue to be felt.
We are planning early for a strong online Conference which will offer the same number of CPD points that the face-to-face event would have.
The new programme will be advised in due course.
On-line offers an exciting opportunity to elevate content to include more international and inspirational speaker content (no travel and reduced cost).

2023 Conference in Christchurch
Some members will be aware that New Zealand has been selected to host the 2023 IVSC/WAVO Global Valuation Conference.
With the likelihood that international travel will be closer to normal by that time, your Board wanted to provide certainty to our overseas guests who may be considering attending the event and deliver a world-class international event.
With delegate numbers likely to be high, we needed to ensure we have a venue with capacity for hosting a Conference of that size and the infrastructure to support those who attend.
For those reasons we have secured June 7-9, 2023 at the newly opened Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre which offers a new, purpose-built venue that fits all our requirements.
It will give us a real opportunity to showcase our organisations, and New Zealand to an international audience.
We do hope you will attend our online Conference in 2022.

Ngā mihi nui
