Split Alert Level Uncertainty

Property Institute of New Zealand President Luke van den Broek
New Zealand Institute of Valuers President Adam Binns.

Dear members,

Your Institute has been in regular contact with the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE) in the past couple of weeks and continues to do so.

Obviously we have, late today, received the news from the Prime Minister that the intention is that there will be a split Alert Level spread throughout New Zealand with Auckland & Northland remaining in a full Level Four Lockdown, while the rest of the country will move to Level Three from Tuesday.

This is obviously a dynamic situation and we are working to get you reliable and up to date advice as soon as we receive it from officials.

In the meantime, please follow the official guidelines on the Government website and once we have further more informed advice, as it affects property professionals, we will pass that on as soon as it comes to hand.

The New Zealand Institute of Valuers has issued comprehensive advice about operations under Level Four, but as we all know the situation is not the same as it was last time we went through this and we are determined to give you the best and most reliable advice we possibly can.

We expect to be in touch again as soon as further information is received from MBIE.
