NZIV Member Update #8 -
Frequently Asked Questions

7 April 2020

Dear Member of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers,

As part of the Institute's ongoing efforts to inform and guide valuer members during these uncertain times, the NZIV Council has been collaborating with the Standards Board to provide further advice to members.

As previously mentioned, the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has deemed the work we do as valuers a non-essential service. This means we are in lock-down and unable to carry out property inspections.

NZIV are continuing to communicate with MBIE about “Non-Essential” status.

However, there are a number of steps a valuer can take to continue to work in a limited capacity, and we have previously provided that advice in our updates which you can find HERE.

The Council and Standards Board have also put together this FAQ document which is based on the range of questions we have received over the past couple of weeks.

Members are reminded that they must be logged in to see IVS. Should you require assistance to log in to view IVS resources, please email Rochelle and she should be able to talk you through the process.

NZIV Council will continue to keep Members informed and provide any further guidance as it comes to hand.
