Dear Property Institute members,
Yesterday we issued our first update on how the Coronovirus (COVID-19) pandemic will impact on PINZ face-to-face activities such as seminars, meetings, AGMs and networking events.

As a responsible organisation that considers the health, well-being and safety of its members to be its top priority, we have been reviewing all future face-to-face activities and testing them against public health guidelines, and best practice.
As a result, the Board of the Property Institute of New Zealand has reluctantly decided to cancel this year's National Property Conference, scheduled in Auckland on July 8, 9 and 10.
This was an incredibly tough call, but we are taking a leadership role, making some early decisions and providing more certainty to members, our team, our presenters, and our suppliers. Many people had already invested countless hours, along with their blood, sweat and tears to ensure our 2020 Conference was the best ever - but given the global uncertainty and potential risk to people's health, cancellation was the only realistic call we could make.
We are all incredibly disappointed, and apologise for any inconvenience. We will be contacting our presenters in the coming days and inviting them to present via webinars as an alternative. I can assure you, the messages some of these presenters were preparing will be even more relevant in the current and changing climate.
Celebrating our 21st in 2021
Having made the tough call to cancel this year's property conference, our minds are already turning to planning for our coming of age, 21 in 2021.
Given the huge volume of work and planning that had taken place ahead of this year's conference we are very well placed and well advanced in planning for next year.
This will be a hugely exciting event, as the Property Institute of New Zealand has won its bid to host the IVSC-WAVO International Valuation Conference next year which will bring guests from all over the world.
We are already in the process of securing dates and venues and we will be making announcements in the very near future.
We are also adopting a strategy of regular consistent and clear communication, so we will be providing updates to you as they come to hand.
In conclusion, we thank you all for your support and understanding during these difficult and uncertain times.

The Property Institute is well placed to weather this new and dynamic environment - we are flexible, tech savvy and innovative.
