New name & logo for Independent Property Managers Association

The Independent Property Managers Association (IPMA) has adopted a new name and logo.

From today, the organisation will be known as PROMINZ which is short for the Property Managers Institute of New Zealand.

“The name and logo change are all part of a scaling up for our organisation, which seeks to raise standards, promote education and encourage the highest ethical standards among the Property Management industry,” says PROMINZ chair Karen Withers (formerly IPMA).

In the middle of last year, the IPMA made the decision to merge with the Property Institute of New Zealand (PINZ), with an agenda to grow and become more dynamic in the sorts of activities it engages in.

“This year that partnership will gather more momentum as our members embrace compulsory and regular education, the introduction of a formalised ethics module and the opening of our doors to a broader cross-section of the property management community.

“We’re extremely excited about the opportunities, and the chance for us to establish a benchmark should regulation of our industry become a reality.  We want to be ahead of the game rather than playing catch up,” Ms Withers says.

The new logo includes elements from the one previously used by IPMA, and will be available for use by all members of the PROMINZ Community within PINZ.

“We want the public and clients to be able to easily identify our members and take comfort from the fact that they are better informed through regular training and professional development and working within a strict code of standards – which is backed up by a complaints process.

“We’ve got a number of exciting initiatives planned this year, including a conference & awards ceremony in August, alongside regular advocacy on important Government proposals that have the potential to drastically change the landscape for both tenants and landlords.

“PROMINZ is committed to playing a lead role in raising the standards within our industry,” Ms Withers says.
