Speakers

  • Richard Moon

    Richard Moon has worked as a lawyer for over 25 years. Richard regularly advises professional services firms and professional bodies in relation to all aspects of their business. He has considerable general litigation experience and particular expertise in the conduct of disciplinary cases.

    Richards recent roles included acting for the New Zealand Institute of Valuers in proceedings concerning the interpretation of the Valuers Act 1948.

    Mark is a Fellow of both PINZ and NZIV and is a current member of the Professional Conduct Committee (PCC). He is also a member of the Land Valuation Tribunal in Canterbury, a part time Professional Teaching Fellow at Lincoln University and runs a small valuation company.

    Mark is married to Lea-Ann and they have four children (none of whom could be talked into being a valuer, but three are in land based professions).

  • Dr Abdul-Rasheed Amidu. MPINZ

    Dr Abdul-Rasheed Amidu is currently an RICS-qualified Chartered Valuation Surveyor and an Associate Professor in the Department of Property at the University of Auckland Business School. Dr Amidu is an RICS APC Assessor, a Member of Property Institute of New Zealand (MPINZ) and New Zealand Institute of Valuers, a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a Member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Journal of Property Investment and Finance (JPIF), Journal of African Real Estate and Reviewer for several property journals.

    Dr Amidu has a strong global reputation in teaching and research in the field of property valuation. His main research interest is the behavioural perspectives on valuation decision-making, with a strong focus on designing interventions to improve valuation education and practice.

    Deborah has held key leadership roles in the Department of Property over the past 15 years and since 2008 has been Head of the Department. Deborah is internationally recognised for her research in behavioural studies relating to property markets.

    Chair of The Property & Valuations Standards Board

    Blue is the Property and Valuation Standards Board Chair and Registered Valuer with over 40 year’s experience throughout New Zealand specialising in Rural, Horticultural, Forestry and Maori land issues. Blues areas of expertise include Compensation valuations, Lessee and lessor interest valuations, rent reviews, litigation preparation and Treaty of Waitangi claims. Blue has been an arbitrator for a number of private arbitrations.

  • Gordon Webb

    Gordon's philosophy has always been 'there's no substitute for hard work!' Since he began selling real estate in November 2003 he has, through a natural affinity to the business, become Summit's most successful salesperson. He was 'Rookie of the Year' in 2005, 'Runner-up Salesperson of the Year' in 2006 and 2007, 'Salesperson of the Year’ in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and in 2010 was appointed Branch Manager of the Richmond office.
