  • Matt Tooman. ANZIV, SPINZ

    Matt Tooman is a Director of AIM Valuation based in Auckland, and is currently 1 of 3 Councillors for the Northern Region of NZIV. He has generally worked in private and corporate valuation practise since 1989, which included a 5 year period selling investment property. He is actively involved in valuation work for many purposes.

  • Matthew Cutler-Welsh

    • Senior Manager - Residential at New Zealand Green Building Council.

    Matthew’s mission is to inspire people to make a better place to live. Matthew has an Honours Degree in Natural Resources Engineering and is a Certified Passive House Consultant. He has over 15 years of experience leading residential energy efficiency projects in New Zealand and Australia.

  • Bobby Shen

    • Business Development Manager NZGBC

    Bobby Shen is the senior manager at the NZGBC looking at the sustainability of existing buildings. This includes using rating tools Green Star Performance, NABERSNZ, and Net Zero Buildings to drive change and focus efforts. He has a background in commercial architecture, sustainability, governance, and community development. In his role, he assists the property sector in Aotearoa to work toward low-carbon and ESG responsive properties.

  • Steven Dunlop. FNZIV, FPINZ

    Chair of the NZIV Professional Conduct Committee.

    Steven has been Chair of the PCC since December 2022. The role of the PCC is to ensure that where the NZIV decides to investigate a complaint against a Registered Valuer, a properly constituted Committee undertakes that investigation fairly, in accordance with the rules of natural justice.



  • Richard Moon

    Richard Moon has worked as a lawyer for over 25 years. Richard regularly advises professional services firms and professional bodies in relation to all aspects of their business. He has considerable general litigation experience and particular expertise in the conduct of disciplinary cases.

    Richards recent roles included acting for the New Zealand Institute of Valuers in proceedings concerning the interpretation of the Valuers Act 1948.

  • Dr Abdul-Rasheed Amidu. MPINZ

    • Associate Professor & Graduate Advisor in the Department of Property.

    Dr Abdul-Rasheed Amidu is currently an RICS-qualified Chartered Valuation Surveyor and an Associate Professor in the Department of Property at the University of Auckland Business School. Dr Amidu is an RICS APC Assessor, a Member of Property Institute of New Zealand (MPINZ) and New Zealand Institute of Valuers, a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a Member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Journal of Property Investment and Finance (JPIF), Journal of African Real Estate and Reviewer for several property journals.

    Dr Amidu has a strong global reputation in teaching and research in the field of property valuation. His main research interest is the behavioural perspectives on valuation decision-making, with a strong focus on designing interventions to improve valuation education and practice.

    Property and Valuation Standards Board Member

    Jason is a Senior Commercial and Industrial Valuer. He is a member of the Property and Valuation Standards Board and is a former NZIV Councillor, NZIV and PINZ Auckland branch chairman. He also sits on the PINZ and PCNZ Guide for the Measurement of Rentable Areas review committee.

    Jason works in the Auckland industrial and commercial market including undertaking valuations for various purposes including mortgage lending, financial reporting, rent reviews, insurance, and land value apportionments for depreciation purposes. His focus is on industrial and commercial valuations within the greater Auckland region.

    Property and Valuation Standards Board Member

    John is an Auckland based Commercial Valuer and is the Director of NH Valuers, which covers Commercial, residential and lifestyle property markets around Greater Auckland. As a past Chair and still current member of the PINZ Standards Board, John has first hand knowledge of current standards both local and International. Specialist workstreams John is involved in include Expert Witness, Arbitrations/ rent disputes and Compensation Valuations.
