About the Event

The process of documenting and agreeing with a client the nature of the valuation and the scope of work to be undertaken - known as “terms of engagement or service” – is a critical part of every valuation assignment.

The purpose of reporting and the report format, limitations, assumptions, timescales, and terms of payment regimes are all key considerations – and always important no matter what the task is.

Understanding what is agreed between the valuer and their client, the boundaries and or limitations, and the communication of the professional obligations of valuers such as mandatory compliance with standards, is vital.

This webinar will examine what that behaviour looks like, taking participants on a tour of the mandatory standards expected of them and in the process help unravel the pitfalls and uncertainties typically faced by valuers in this area.

It will also provide some ideas for developing a suitable framework for guiding less sophisticated clients in terms of choosing the most appropriate level of service and advice that will be most likely to be meaningful and helpful to them – but at the same time being ethically compliant and meeting professional valuation standards.
