Contaminated Land

Contaminated Land

This talk will address the question “how does land contamination affect land value” ? Murray will also explain how a vendor, a buyer and a lease holder might respond to mitigate their risk and liability posed by land contamination. Finally, Murray will attempt to demystify how contaminated land is assessed and the relevant New Zealand legislation and guidance that applies.

Valuation of non-productive plantings
This presentation is based on Ionas report undertaken for The Property Foundation on ‘Impact of sustainable agricultural practices on farmland value’. The presentation will include a brief discussion on total economic valuation methods and presents the results of a survey of rural valuers on valuation approaches they use to value non-productive plantings.

The primary sector is facing a significant amount of environmental regulation. This presentation will cover the drivers, implications for the sector, and how it is and will affect farmers. The presentation will include detail on He Waka Eke Noa, the Primary Sector proposal for greenhouse gas emissions pricing in 2025, and the Climate Change Commission Response to it.
