Profile:
Michael Riley has worked in the local government sector since 1995 and in both public and private-sector property roles since 1986.
His experience covers all aspects of local government property negotiation, from property project planning/scoping, value-engineering, landowner negotiation, budget management.
Michael?s wider local government experience extends to strategic governance of regional infrastructure entities, managing a community board, and serving in multi-disciplinary teams set up to manage projects of significant strategic/financial/political risk.
Michael holds a Master?s degree in Business Studies, a Bachelor?s degree in Property Administration and a National Diploma in Business L5 (Local Government studies).
He is a Life Member of the Local Authority Property Association, a Senior Member of the Property Institute of NZ, holding registration in both Property Consultancy and Property Management.
Outside the corporate environment, Michael enjoys family activities, the ongoing renovation of ?a house that no-one else would touch?, and has been a committee member of ?The Albertians? (past pupils of Mt. Albert Grammar School) since 1999, serving as President between 2004 and 2008.
