Heather joined Colliers International Queenstown in May 2014 as a valuer, becoming registered in 2017. Heather’s main responsibilities involve the completion of Current Market Valuations, Rental assessments, and Insurance Valuations of commercial and industrial properties throughout the Queenstown region. As well as Managed apartments, tourist accommodation properties, lifestyle and residential.

Matthew Snelgrove

NZIV Vice President Northern Representative

Matt is the Director of Savills based in Hamilton, covering the wider Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. With over 25 years of experience in the Waikato property sector, Matt's field of expertise includes; commercial, industrial, and specialised assets such as development land, service stations, childcare centres and telecommunication sites. He represents a wide range of clients encompassing private investors, corporate and government entities, along with a wide range of developers.

Andrew White

NZIV Second Vice President Central Representative

Andrew is a senior Registered Valuer in Hawkes Bay specialising in the Commercial and Industrial sectors, with particular specialisation in compensation valuations, childcare centres and block residential development land. Andrew has been a practising Valuer since 2000; and is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers and Property Institute of New Zealand. Andrew is the former chair of the Hawkes Bay branch; and is the director of My Valuer Limited which commenced in March 2010, a small practise of four Valuers in Hawkes Bay.

Blue Hancock

NZIV Council Member Southern Representative

A rural valuer specialising in Rural, Horticultural, Forestry and Maori land issues. Over 40 years experience throughout New Zealand in forestland, dairy, pastoral and lifestyle valuations. My areas of expertise include Compensation valuations, Maori land issues, Lessee and lessor interest valuations and Treaty of Waitangi claims. Blue has been an arbitrator for a number of private arbitrations. Currently based in Nelson he provides property advice to clients throughout New Zealand.

Hayden Doody

NZIV Council Member Southern Representative

Hayden has prepared valuations and acted in an advisory capacity for a wide range of local and national commercial entities, lending institutions, local and central Government, and publicly listed companies. Other assessments have been completed for secured lending, rent review, insurance, financial reporting, pre-loss indemnity valuations, pre-purchase/sale, feasibility, ownership interest assessments under the Unit Titles Act 2010, assessments for depreciation purposes, and compensation. He was appointed a Crown Valuer for property to be acquired by CERA for the key Anchor Projects in Christchurch’s CBD as part of the Recovery Plan. Hayden regularly manages the efficient delivery of portfolio valuations of both government and privately owned assets. He also has involvement in research assignments and market analysis.

Claire Robinson

NZIV Council Member Southern Representative

In 2012 Claire became a Registered Property Valuer with four years of prior valuation experience in Dunedin. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Valuation and Property Management) through a Future Leader Scholarship at Lincoln University. Previously a Certified Property Valuer in Western Australia, having joined Opteon in 2012. A recipient of Opteon’s Emerging Professional Award – 2015, and Australian Property Institute Young Achiever Award - 2017. Currently the Property Institute Otago branch Deputy Chairperson.

Claire’s experience includes the preparation of valuations and consultancy advice for residential and commercial asset classes, ranging from prestige residences to greenfield and urban infill redevelopment sites, existing and proposed residential/mixed-use developments, shopping centres, trading properties specialising in childcare centres, and general commercial assets inclusive of office, retail, and small industrial properties.

In November 2021 Claire was appointed as a Valuation Risk Manager for Opteon across both Australia and New Zealand. Her role currently involves reviewing high-value and specialised reports, providing technical advice for valuations, and managing valuation and client risk.

Matthew Tooman

NZIV Council Member Northern Representative

Matt acts in complex valuation matters ranging from site acquisition and disposal for New Zealand and international companies, to expert witness at arbitration for ground rent reviews, and in mediation for compulsory acquisition of subterranean land. With over 30 years in the property industry including valuation, sales, and advisory Matt brings a depth of experience and rigour to his work. This includes providing impartial mortgage and capital raising valuations, due diligence valuations, and leasing and acquisition advice.

Talei Atwell

NZIV Council Member Northern Representative

I am a Registered Valuer based in Whangarei, Northland. I graduated Massey University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Business Studies (Valuation and Property Management). I commenced working at TelferYoung Northland (now TelferYoung from CBRE) in 2017 and became a Registered Valuer in 2020. I cover the Whangarei District and parts of the wider Northland Region. My main area of expertise is Residential valuations, including coastal properties, lifestyle and residential developments. I also undertake insurance valuations and I am a PINZ Branch committee member.

I am a local, growing up in the Bay of Islands and I now currently live in Whangarei with my partner and young daughter.

Hamish Bills

Hamish was registered as a valuer in 1990, having completed a Bachelor of Commerce with an Agricultural major. He is a Fellow of both The New Zealand Institute of Valuers and The Property Institute of New Zealand. Hamish’s main areas of expertise cover all aspects of Residential and Rural valuation, including mortgage, acquisition, disposal, division of assets, compensation, subdivision, easements, boundary adjustments, insurance, rental and peer review.

Paul Leogreen

NZIV Council Member Central Representative

Paul is a senior registered valuer with over 25 years experience in Palmerston North and the wider Manawatu, Horowhenua, Rangitikei and Tararua Regions. Paul has broad industry exposure from initially working with Bayleys Professional Services, then operating as a sole trader, to now being a director of Morgans Property Advisors (the largest privately owned valuation firm in the region and a member of ValGroup).

From valuing high end residential/lifestyle and investment properties, Paul is now a specialist in the Commercial and Industrial Sectors and is a panel valuer for all the main trading banks. Paul has a broad client base representing Government and Council interests, large national and local companies and developers.

Neill Sullivan

Valuer-General

Neill Sullivan is the Valuer-General, located in the Wellington office of Land Information New Zealand. He has been a registered valuer since 1983 and has worked in a variety of private and government roles in New Zealand and abroad. The Valuer-General is primarily responsible for regulation of the rating valuations system, chairing the Valuers Registration Board and is also member of the NZIV Council in accordance with the Valuers Act 1948.

Jeremy Tucker

Observer / Future Leader

Jeremy is a registered valuer at Preston Rowe Patterson (PRP) based in Tauranga. Jeremy is in the commercial and industrial team and undertakes valuations across the wider Bay of Plenty region. He has also spent some time of his career as a rating valuer. He is the current secretary of the PINZ Tauranga Branch and has been on the PINZ committee for several years. Jeremy is also a part of the PINZ Future Leaders Program.

Rebecca is our Community Lead for each of our professional communities. This includes managing our service level and strategic partnership agreements and delivery of our national education programme, which sees her engaged at many levels throughout the organisation.

Viv Gurrey

Observer / PINZ Chief Executive Officer

Viv joined PINZ in September 2019. Working in the NGO and private sectors – leadership and people have been the basis of Viv’s career for more years than she chooses to mention. Relationships are key. ‘You have to like people, really like them, genuinely understand them – and treat them well!’
