Guy Ashton was a larger than life personality remembered by all with whom he came in contact. He joined the 1955 RFC group and graduated from Lincoln in 1959 with a Diploma in Valuation and Farm Management.

Being bonded to the Government was never a comfortable fit, but he served 7 years with the State Advances Corporation in Rotorua, Invercargill and New Plymouth.
He became a farm adviser in the Te Kuiti and Taumaranui area for three years before briefly joining ANZDEC, then formed his own company PANPAC and completed projects in the Pacific.
After a few years with Darroch and Associates Guy opened his own valuation practice, became involved with property development in the UK and returned to New Zealand in 1994 to work with Property Brokers based in Palmerston North, where he worked until his death.
Guy exuded confidence, had a remarkable memory, a sharp intellect and a positive do it now approach to life.
He had a great interest in humanity and the way in which he helped others to turn their life around was talked about by many.
He had many schemes probably equally balanced by successes and failures. He packed as much experience into his lifetime as that of several others.
He is survived by his wife Pat and a family of six.
